Pool tiling is the most precise outdoor work there is: the coping has to read dead level to the eye, the waterline tiles have to be set in the right adhesive and grout for constant immersion, and the surround has to drain away from the pool, not into it. We lay external-grade porcelain pavers to a proper fall with frost-tolerant adhesives so the area survives a Riverina summer and a frosty winter morning alike. The brick-veneer homes through Lake Albert are mostly twenty to forty years old, which means a steady stream of bathroom retiles. These older bathrooms typically have a single small wall tile to shower height, a separate bath, and a membrane that, if it exists at all, is long past its life. A retile here is a genuine upgrade: we strip back, re-waterproof the whole wet area to AS 3740, and bring the room up to a modern floor-to-ceiling large-format look with a hobless shower. A shared wall with the bedroom next door is exactly why the new membrane has to be done by a licensed waterproofer, not painted in and hoped for.
Bigger blocks, bigger floors.
Lake Albert living areas tend to be larger than the new-estate homes across town, so floor jobs here are often 40 to 70 square metres of through-floor tiling. On a settled slab of this age we check for movement cracks and lay a crack-isolation membrane through the high-traffic doorways before tiling, so a hairline crack in the slab never telegraphs up into the tiles.
